Looking for an authentic Basque cooking experience that’s shorter, simpler, and more budget-friendly? This 2 hours class is the perfect introduction to our culinary culture — ideal for those who want to enjoy a taste of Basque life without spending the whole day in the kitchen.

You won’t just learn to cook: you’ll live three iconic Basque experiences in one — without ever leaving the center of San Sebastián.

1. A cooking class
You’ll join our local chefs in the kitchen and get hands-on preparing a menu that captures the heart of Basque home cooking:

  • Spanish omelet (Tortilla de patatas)
  • Salt cod in pil-pil sauce (Bacalao al pil-pil)
  • Grilled txuleta (bone-in steak)
  • Basque cheesecake

2. A gastronomic society experience
Basque txokos (gastronomic societies) are where locals gather to cook, eat, and celebrate — but only members are allowed in the kitchen. In this class, we recreate that experience just for you. We become your private sociedad gastronómica, so you can cook like a local, even if you’re only here for a few days.

 3. A sidrería-style meal
Two of the dishes you’ll prepare — cod and steak — are stars of the traditional Basque cider house (sidrería) experience. After cooking, you’ll sit down to enjoy your creations with a glass of natural cider or local wine, just like we do at a traditional sidrería.
